SIDRA — Algerian Food Bank

SIDRA is a civic and youth association founded in April 2011 in Algiers. Officially recognized, apolitical, and non-profit, it launched Algeria's first food bank in history in 2013: the Algerian Food Bank. Every year during Ramadan, SIDRA organizes a major campaign to collect and redistribute food to families in need. In 2024, the "Solidarité Ramadan" campaign helped over 10,000 families across several wilayas. The operation mobilizes hundreds of volunteers and dozens of corporate and institutional partners. Beyond Ramadan, the association manages year-round food collection programs, raises awareness about food waste, and develops partnerships with businesses, universities, and local communities to sustain its social impact.
